2016 Grand Cheval
To make Grand Cheval we take the best characteristics of two very different varietals, Syrah from the Walla Walla Valley, and our own Pinot Noir grapes from the Dundee Hills, and blend them in perfect harmony to create our own version of the ideal “steakhouse wine.” This wine is substantial enough for the richest of dishes, yet soft enough to please any palate.
The 2016 vintage combines the rich aromatics of German chocolate cake and cherry cordial with notes of savory black pepper, spice cake and bay leaf. The mouthfeel is both plush and structured, ensuring that this elegant and balanced wine will age gracefully over time.
2016 The Essence Of Oregon Pinot Noir
A to Z has worked over the years with more than 100 Oregon vineyards, noting different profiles within each region, soil type, elevation, aspect or individual vineyard sites resulting in different fruit, tannin or acidity profiles. In making the 2016 A to Z Essence Pinot Noir blend, a number of vineyards were selected to offer a more structured, darker profile. The fruit was fermented by individual vineyard lots and then the majority of the wine was aged in traditional 55 gallon French-oak Burgundy-shaped barrels for nine months. OREGONICALLY GROWN®.
Chardonnay 2018 ESTATE WINE OF ORIGIN Hemel-en-aar
A tight, minerally wine with classic Hamilton Russell Vineyards length and complexity. Unusually prominent pear and lime fruit aromas and flavors are brought beautifully into focus by a tight line of bright natural acid and a long, dry minerality. An elegant, yet textured and intense wine with a strong personality of both place and vintage.

Pinot noir 2018 ESTATE WINE OF ORIGIN Hemel-en-Aarde Valley
The low-vigour, stony, clay-rich soil, cool maritime mesoclimate, naturally tiny yields of well under 35 hl/ha and our philosophy of expressing our terroir in our wines – give rise to a certain tightness, tannin line and elevated length to balance the richness and generosity of our Pinot noir. Our Pinot noir is not overtly fruity, soft and “sweet” and it generally shows hints of that alluring savory “primal” character along with a dark, spicy, complex primary fruit perfume.
